Celebrating 25 Years

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION September 2020 Dear Sir Or Madam
We are excited to invite you to be part of the 25th Anniversary of Time Project A Week of Activities In Time November 27th – Dec 4th 2020.
For the special 25th Anniversary, a week of events will culminate in a 24 hour learning marathon starting at 00:00 GMT on Time Day Friday December 4th 2020. During that week and for that day throughout all time zones, the youth of the world will connect through TIME PROJECT. TIME offers a wide variety of on line inquiry/project based learning activities such as Video Conferencing, the online research game ‘Unite the Nations’, a Model United Nations, Video Conference Simulation, creative design activities like Design a Clock, World Selfie and Sculptures Through Time plus Classroom Twinning – Blogging Activities. Since 1995 well over 1000 schools and youth groups from 80 countries have participated in the Time Project and for the past 25 years all on a single day – Time Day.
During Time 25th Anniversary the Time participants from around the globe will learn about and share findings centered on the topics of The Plastics Crisis, Inequality of Race, Gender, Sexual Orientation, The Lessons of Covid 19 Imagining a Positive Future as well as creative design lessons. Teachers are encouraged to look at this year’s topics through the lens of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) with a special focus on (SDG 5 Gender Equality, SDG 10 Reduce Inequality, SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 3 Good
Health and Well Being) As well as an examination of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights specifically Article 19th that enshrines the right to freedomof opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference. In addition a series of ICC Mock Trials will also take place as organized through our TIME Partners at World Class Schools.
“This is our Time” was originally initiated for the UNESCO Associated Schools Project and was one of their first ASPnet flagship projects. Today, Time Project is currently organized by Time Project Headquarters in Canada in cooperation with Taking It Global for Educators whose mission is to empower youth to understand and act on the world’s greatest challenges. Travel the world without packing your suitcase or the need for a passport! Grab the opportunity to learn from and about other young people in an innovative project based learning environment!

We aim for at least two participating schools from every time zone on earth. If your school, UNESCO Club or youth and social justice oriented organization would like to participate – it is free! Feel free to contact us by e-mail.
